Artist, amateur naturalist and astronomer. Long time dreamworker & Celtic researcher. "Real" job is at a local library. Finally married in '07, two days before my 40th birthday. I'm not cynical--I'm realistic.

My Artist Statement;
I was born Friday the 13th in the Bermuda Triangle and sold on the black market. My life-long fascination with art began with a poster of a unicorn in my first grade art teacher’s classroom. Back then my art focused almost solely on fantasy creatures, and mythological themes have remained an element of my art ever since. A victim of childhood slavery and torture, my art became the sole outlet for my powerlessness, anger and loneliness. Unicorns gave way to dragons, the “apex predator” of the fantasy scene; huge, powerful and merciless, “independent” rather than lonely.
My artistic focus took a dramatic turn in adulthood, at the end of the abuse and the start of the healing process. I found inner peace and enlightenment in places of wild nature, on unkempt trails through age-old woods far from humanity and technology. As a result, my style is largely visionary. My current works are organic, a celebration of color, mysticism and serenity. My inspiration comes from the melding of opposites; peaceful scenes rendered in colors that excite the mind, the outer world of nature woven with the inner world of dream, myth and spirit.
Largely self-taught, I work primarily with quick-drying acrylics, which allow me more time to create. Acrylic paint is also water soluble, requiring no extra chemicals in our already too-synthetic world.
