I am a writer, small press publisher, and fiber artist. I am involved in animal welfare, and a portion of the proceeds of my fiber art sales goes to Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue. I live in a magical little cottage with 5 parrots, 4 dogs -- a lab-doby mix from the Humane Society and 3 pugs from pug rescue, as well as 4 beta fish! I took the name Maitri legally in 2005 to remind myself, always, to live the Buddhist teaching of maitri, having loving kindness and compassion for all and making it the root of all of my work, and all that I do in life.
