A bit like The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin - except I'm still waiting for the rise bit...

A fortysomething citizen of Edinburgh, Scotland's magnificent capital city. Two children, two grandchildren and too many debts to pay.

I write about football on a regular basis - well the once mighty Heart of Midlothian - and have had a couple of books published, the most recent being Hearts - The Diary of an Incredible Season in 2006.

Musical tastes - I'm a bit of a punk (add your own punchline here) and still pine for the days of The Jam, The Undertones, The Mighty Wah...nowadays, Scotland's own Ally Kerr is quite simply superb.

Films - It's a Wonderful Life, Fever Pitch, Gregory's Girl, Comfort and Joy - you get the picture.
