I first learned of my love for fashion/jewelry as a teen model at age 15. I starting making jewelry pieces and drawing clothing designs as a hobby.
In 2005, I decided to take my "jewelry hobby" to the next level. I learned from a few experienced designers different techniques to explore new ways of creating and inspired me to pursue selling my craft.
Starting out with gifts to friends and family, word of mouth spread and custom orders became more frequent. In May 2006, I took a bold leap and sold my wares as a sidewalk street vendor in the Bronx's Fordham Road and Manhattan Village areas. June 2007-Dec 2008 marks my first successful 18months as an online seller at Etsy.com.
With the awareness of the condition of our planet, as well as some of the social-political events that are effecting children and indigenous peoples, I am slowly taking my designs in a more organic, eco-friendly direction.
I'm now fusing my ideas with recycled/upcycled materials, minimal usage of quality semi-precious stones, and imported organic materials from fair trade communities in Africa, Asia and native American nations.
I deeply support the artisan community by purchasing findings,components, beads and supplies handcrafted by Etsy artists.
