Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, my friends often teased about my Cleaveresque family. From the outside, there was a perfect nuclear family, my dad was the bread winner and my mother enjoyed making food from scratch. From the inside I saw not only the traditional roles everyone suspected as well as the role reversal, my dad was doing the dishes and mopping and my mother was cutting a hole in the wall to create a new doorway. My dad doesn’t say “swell” or “the bees knees” and my mother doesn’t vacuum with pearls and an up-do. But I do… sometimes.
Now that my hubster lured me to a small Central Pennsylvania town, I enjoy carrying on the same family values and traditions that were instilled upon me early in life.
My blog is about gardening, home-improvement, cooking/baking, sewing, creating and taking care of my family.
