Anna Lefler is a novelist with Southern roots who has lived primarily in the Los Angeles area since the early 80s. Along the way, she has been a kids' shoe salesperson in Berkeley, a camp counselor in Los Angeles and a carpet cleaner in Oakland. After toiling for almost a decade under the fluorescent lights of L.A.'s public relations industry, she turned in her last corporate timesheet and rode off into the lawless frontier of motherhood.
In 2007, Anna embraced her lifelong love of comedy and began writing and performing standup. She has performed in Los Angeles clubs including the Hollywood Improv, the Comedy Store and Room 5 Lounge. She lives in Santa Monica with her husband and their daughter and son (9 and 8, respectively), writing her next novel and reflecting on the fact that while no job truly can prepare one for motherhood, the carpet cleaning gig sure didn't hurt.
