I began my professional career as a high school English teacher in 1964 at San Felipe High School and have taught at all levels of k-12 education. I've been an education activist fighting for excellent schools for all children, specifically those that are poor, of color and speak a language other than English. I have been part of initiating an independent college, several non-profit organizations and am currently focusing on parent leadership in education. I've been with the Intercultural Development Research Association since 1975 and expect I'll be here until I get asked to leave or I die. I love my work, am not looking for work elsewhere, and hope to continue to be challenged, energized and driven by my work in education.

Specialties:Teacher training, curriculum development, public school parent engagement and outreach, training of trainers, educational advocacy writing, professional development planning and carrying out.
