Hey! My name is Ashley Rice. I'm the author and illustrator of several books including Girls Rule and Thanks for Being My Friend (among many other titles). You can find my book on sites like amazon.com, Border's, BN, etc. I also have a line of calendars, girl-power picture frames, notepads, and things-to-inspire-your-days in a very cool way, some of which you can buy in many different countries. I've worked as a yogurt seller and a movie ticket seller and a grill cook and a waitress and a hostess. Once I was in a documentary about movies which aired on the Academy Awards. My main passion in life -- aside from helping people to help themselves and to reach their dreams -- is poetry. As an undergraduate at Princeton University I was Fiction Editor of the Nassau Literary Review my sophomore year and I also received my B.A. in English Literature from there. Later I received an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Emerson College. In addition to New Jersey and Boston (where I lived inside a very old piano factory which had been converted into an artists' residency) I've also lived in Northern and Southern CA, Spain and NYC. Now I live in TX, which is where I am originally from. I love art and music and D.I.Y. culture.
