One of my favorite questions to ask new clients is “Why do you have a website?” I would have to say ninety-nine percent of them stumble. They don’t know, or at least they don’t know exactly why. They usually manage to get some sort of answer to me, but guess what, it is the same thing their websites says. Your site needs purpose, and it needs to be clear to your visitors, new and returning. If you don’t have that, you have a mess. The first step to improving the usability of your website is to know exactly why you have it.
