I’m a freelance writer who specialises in film criticism and educational writing on film.

I am currently living in Melbourne, Australia and my writing has appeared in various online journals, magazines and educational books. I regularly review films and DVDs for the Australian edition of The Big Issue and am the co-host of "The Casting Couch", a radio program dedicated to film on JOY 94.9. I am also the author of the educational book Film Analysis Handbook.

Although I have studied film academically, I try to make my writing as accessible as possible. I simply love film in all its forms so I don’t subscribe to any particular school of thought about what makes a good film, nor do I favour one type of film over another. Old or new; Hollywood or art-house; blockbuster or obscure; I try to value every film for what it is and what it is trying to achieve.
