In 1989 I became an image consultant with BeautiControl Cosmetics, I sold a product line, held hundreds of image improvement seminars and worked with individuals on looking their best from head to toe. This was the beginning of my life long journey into image consulting even though I have prided myself on being able to do it since I was 10 (just kidding). I learned how to tailor and sew and pull myself together at an early age and have always enjoyed giving tips to friends and aquaintences. Never being an over the top fashion slave (although loving to dabble in it occasionally when I had the money) and coming from parents who really know how to “tog it out” (as my mother would say) I learned early on how to dress properly, be a bit fashionable and have honed impeccable taste. After spending years working as an image consultant I have image improvement opinions, critiques and observations that when applied will make anyone look amazing at any time of day in any work or casual atmosphere, even those of you who could care less about this subject but know you need to care just a smidge for whatever reasons. Good grooming alone will get you a long ways. I will share with you how to mix up a wardrobe with articles from Nordstroms to TJ Max and look terrific. There is good taste and bad taste everywhere you go. If you read this blog often enough I will show you what to vier away from and what to have as staples in your wardrobe and grooming arsenal.

I love the relaxed and creative ways of fashion in this generation, I enjoy the freedom, the mixing of styles and that there are really no “ins and outs” anymore, we can all wear just what we look great in. However, the basics of grooming, dressing for respect and just plain good style and good sense has in many ways has gone out the door. I believe in casual clothes and comfort to boot and hope to never wear another pair of nylons again during a day of work however, with the influence of Hollywood, TV and videos on music TV channels and the overwhelming abundance of sleazy sexy marketing campaigns influencing even people who once had taste; I am now on a mission to add a touch of class and sanity back to as many people’s personal appearance as I can, beginning here at the imagetutorme blog.
