Most awesomely designed blog I've ever seen. Images are well-placed, headers are descriptive and accurate, sleekness and seemlessness prevents being overwhelmed while also allowing you to take in a ton of information at once. Very searchable.

A beautiful concept and reminder of what being a christian is really all about, and what all of us should stand for in Christ. I need to read this more often. God bless them, every single one of them.

Design slightly irritating, and prose broken, but much of the content is golden.

Beautiful! Splendid postcards and well-placed descriptions, captions, expalanatons and other prose.

Low-class and not especially funny. Laughed maybe a total of 3 times over 4 blogposts, and one of those was from somebody elses demotivational poster, while one other was a bad pun involving "K"s in the place of "C"s (so stinky it's kind of good, sort of like French cheese) and the last one was reading about a tent city made from dead hobos in a post made a long time ago (that post lost all substance after that, unfortunately. Kind of a disappointment.) But I did read 4 posts, and 2 of them were completely devoid of any humor and were just BAD! I also looked at the sample for several others and knew what I was getting before I tried it, getting away from this terrible site before I was tempted. The funniest thing about this satire site was probably the layout - a gigantic homeless guy with his feet sticking out a box that serves as the menu of the site - though it may sound funnier in my description then it actually is. None of those laughs were especially uproarious, and the hobo jokes would've been funnier from someone who doesn't claim to be a defender of the poor. The "wit" was too dry and said too little. Regular Cable News channel probably funnier then this site. Should maybe consider serious commentary site, though you might actually have to look at things from several perspectives if you did. And before you ask, yes, I did leave extensive comments. Commented on all of your last three posts and one post before it.

I believe the last reviewer is completely wrong. This reviewer below had next to nothing to say when questioned - and for good reason. He was so caught up emotionally in partisanship that he failed to see past Bush & Obama to what the post was actually about. You can even check out our discussion yourself on the post "Lehman Brothers Burns in Hell," category "Economics." I'm sure you'll see what I mean, and I trust if you don't, you will give this blog the rating it deserves.

Editorials are of poor quality, but regular reporting is solid. The prose, description, and exposition are usually quality, but logic, where present, is fatally flawed and thesi are often left completely orphaned of argument or evidence. Often times, judgements, loyalties and partisan sentiments are given priority over rational exploration. Decor and design is average. This is definitely a pick and choose blog. Yes I read several of your posts. "Violence in Chicago" was definitely the best.

Top quality left-wing political blog that can appeal to readers on all sides of political spectrum. Written by down-to-earth straight-talking Texan with a genuine love of America, our fighting men and women, and all that this great republic stands for who makes legitimate points about the hypocrisy of the right. This kind of political commentary only helps to keep America, and especially the right-wing, strong and pure, something that as a Republican voter I can appreciate.

Your style doesn't come out strong on this blog like the other, and many of the stories come off hokey from the faux newspaper feel. Also, design makes accessing back stories very difficult and visual layout is unimpressive. In order to sound objective, you take very subjective statements like "Brian Milligan Jr. got no support because he's white" and try to tone it down with witless language like: "Brian Milligan Jr. has the wrong skin color and that’s why there is not a big show of support for him or major media attention." These stories would be 200% better if they were half as long; you could remove statements like these entirely. News stories are about conveying information in a near subjective manner for your reader to make their own decisions. They are not about making your own statements too weak to be offensive. It's not about offending or not offending; it's about the objectivity and giving your reader, in the words of the New York Times motto, "All the news that's fit to print." "Clean the outside of the dish, that the inside may be clean also." -Jesus Christ I understand that the Brian Milligan story can wreak some pretty powerful emotions, but your not the only person who will feel that way, and simply stating the truth in a clear, from every perspective including the emotions of those involved, manner will do far more to touch the hearts of your readers. I checked out a total of 3 stories, including your most recent, the Brian Milligan story, and the story about taxing Fat People, which was the most impressive of the three, and was also essentially an editorial (food for thought.) If I had read only one of these stories, this blogs' rating would be: Fat People 4-stars Brian Milligan 1-star Recent 2-stars (though I wouldn't have rated you on the last one alone because I had already heard you quote it on the board, thus distorting my perspective) Still, your logic on the Fat Tax editorial was solid, which is why your rating is one star higher then it would otherwise be.

A very solid Tour de Rant that does its best to appeal to readers with strong media and design and well-written prose. While I would not advise reading more then two posts per day - like good Whiskey you can drink too much - certainly adds to your life in small doses. Further, the prior "criticism" isn't so much a criticism of this particular blog as a criticism of this kind of blog, which is why, for it's category, it earns FIVE STARS.

  • A Hammer In The Skull Of Hypocrisy

    Friday October 9th, 2009 at 01:27 | Rating: 4 | Report

Readings of events are a little extreme and sometimes resorts to straw men, but content is unique and research, though perhaps slanted, is present and far more thorough then any blog I've ever seen. Prose is above average, but not incredible. Well designed and laid out though load times are slow and media mostly absent. In many ways very similar to Fox News, in that reporting is top quality and research engaging and thorough, though perhaps not complete, but "enemies" are treated as such to the detriment of objectivity. Certainly a "B" blog, with substantial strengths and weaknesses. Worthy of reading, but not a favorite. Also has class to avoid advertisements, which should never be present in political blogs. Good call.

Humor is effective, but prose is bland and annoying. Visual layout better then prose, but unremarkable. Fun in small doses but reader will want at least three other blogs in mind to switch to after the first post. A blogroll would make this blog more tolerable as provides convenience to reader in switching blogs.

  • The Dialogue

    Sunday October 4th, 2009 at 02:37 | Rating: 5 | Report

Well designed and written with well-thought out concept. Front page dynamics won me over. Media well placed to conduct attention to appropriate places with linkage to older posts, newer posts, for every kind of reader. Background color of black with white embroiderment surprisingly effective. The basic concept behind this blog - elaborate conversations in print - is as simple as it is strangely rare. I must admit, I am somewhat surprised at the rating I am giving you, I did not take this idea that seriously at first but you seem to have pulled it off. ;)

  • DOOMSDAY LOG BOOK

    Saturday October 3rd, 2009 at 22:34 | Rating: 3 | Report

Well-thought out persuasive reasoning, but too many ads, pop-ups and other disturbances, especially considering as this is a political blog and therefore should be treated like a public service, not least of all because no one is obligated to read it. Also fails to address the oppositions argument most of the time, relying too heavily on Ethnos and the credibility of experts.

Beautiful right-wing blog with well-stated thoughtful viewpoints, well picked media, concise and expedient prose, and a surprisingly fast load time. Especially loved "The Children Are Our Future?" Look forward to seeing what this blog does in the future.

TOOO MUCH ON THE SCREEEEEENNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!! Too many AD's also. Some of the pictures are neat, and prose is neatly crafted, but subject seems to draw on and on without really identifying you or what you're talking about. Fail to see point, but seems to be somewhat well executed. Still, as some of this is subjective, and I'm not entirely sure how much, I'm trying to limit how much I take off for it, and one of those stars is simply the layout.

Beautiful writing and photography, well-rounded Geography and Culture blog about Vietnam's many aspects, but... WAY TOO MANY ADS!!!!!!!!!!!! In between the Ad's and the white background, I started to develop a migraine after the 2nd post. If you do not remedy this, you may want to consider advertising for Tylenol!

  • A Boy of Negotiable Affections

Content and narrative technique are interesting and effective, but verbal gags, tricks, et cetera are overused and ineffective. Layout and images are cliche. I am concerned, B.L., that you are too in love with your own cleverness. This generally makes you less clever. There is tremendous room for improvement, and many improvements would involve only the mildest degree of effort. Still, the content and overall flow and organization are good.
