Thanks for all your hard work on your blog. It's a great contribution to the future of eco-friendly products. Researchers watch blogs to see what people are talking about, so this matters!

I have read almost every post in your blog. I found your references fascinating and your writing quite engaging. When I get a moment, I'll even submit my thoughts on a few of them. Thank you for stimulating some interesting thoughts. And... I LOVE the title of your blog. Is that original?

Great advice! I'd also like to add to your blog about not neglecting advertising during hard times. Our company is preparing to open a retail store and in the process has found that we are in a position (because of the recession) to bargain for a better price on almost everything we need for the store, including advertising. We have taken the approach that rather than running away in fear, we will embrace the economic situation as an opportunity to expand our plans. It's the old "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade" approach to life. also, if you have lost your job, look at it as a golden opportunity to either get a better one (since there are still millions of job openings out there and hundreds of companies hiring) or as the perfect time to open and inexpensively advertise a new business.

Lots of work has gone into this list of online career resources - great job! It's also well organized and easy to follow. Of course, I wish you had listed our site, which we've been improving for over 10 years, but I figure you will discover our gem eventually:)

I just read your blog "Improve Your Communications Join Toastmasters" and was reminded of a club that was a huge help to me when I started my own business. I totally agree with your assessment of the value of networking as well as the critical importance of communication skills. Although I am no longer a member of Business Network International (BNI), which is similar to Toastmasters, I continue to reap the benefits of that network as well as other networks (like the blogging community) I have joined through out my career. I'm also a big supporter of Chambers of Commerce, even for Internet-based businesses. Thank you for your timely and very insightful blog!

Selling as an affiliate is also a good method to use to get a feel for the market without having to make an investment. If you fail, you have only lost time, but you may have gained a great deal of education. They key is to pay attention to the lessons you learn so that you can apply them to your next venture. I started a very profitable business online by using my domain name first to sell as an affiliate, then as a drop shipper and finally as a full-blown online retail store with inventory, a payment gateway, email marketing … the whole enchilada. I learned so much during the first two phases that I was able to ensure the success of the final phase. I think of affiliate sales as a “starter business” with very low risk.

Get800Today: Virtual PBX Phone System

Of all the things I have added to my online retail store, the absolute best was my toll-free number. At first I was worried that I would be overrun with calls from people trying to sell me things - and letting me pay for the calls. But after 5 years of posting the number in big font on every page of the website, I can say with confidence that it has not been a problem at all. I get a few wasted calls from people who would rather call than read the shipping terms posted all over the site. But that's OK, too, because people like to know that real humans are there to answer the phone. The toll-free number has more than paid for itself - many times over - with increased sales and increased customer loyalty. By the way, I have also tried call-back services, online chat, FAQs, etc. Nothing works like a toll-free number. I'm a huge fan!

I'm having great fun on your blogsite. So far my favorite is the article about killing your TV. Another alternative source for entertainment is the free selection of movies (classics and Oscar winners generally) at the public library. They also have books (smile) for your Sony eReader. I must say that when it comes to books I do enjoy the low-tech, old-fashioned way more.
