My name is Elaine Kazinec and if I had to describe myself in one sentence I would probably say something like this. I am a fifty two year old easygoing, nature loving, always changing, grandmother of four with many, many interests in life. I am never bored because I’m always busy. I am probably best known for burning everything I cook and for constantly changing things around my house. I am also known for my love of Halloween and holidays in general. My granddaughter recently told me that I am full of childlike wonder which was, I think, a nice way of saying I never really grew up. I have enjoyed making things for as long as I can remember but my interest in crafting began in earnest when my husband and I bought our first home. We were short on cash so I learned to make things instead of buying them. I started with simple projects then worked my way up to more difficult and challenging things. I made a lot of mistakes along the way, and still do, but always look at trashed projects as learning experiences rather than failures. My tastes are always changing but, because we have been living in a log home in the mountains of Tennessee for the past five years, I’ve found myself leaning towards rustic and simple. Who knows what I’ll like tomorrow?
