Originally from New Hampshire, Philip K. Lentz obtained degrees in History and Classics then spent four years as a webmaster in New Jersey before moving to Amman, Jordan with his wife Diya Abdo, a professor of English Literature. In 2003, his science fiction novel manuscript INTERIM won first prize in Cinescape Magazine's Genre Literary Competition. The judges called it "reminiscent of sagas like Dune and Foundation, without ever being repetitive. It's thoughtful, but also a good old-fashioned page turner." Since then he has produced two more first-draft novels and begun writing short stories, with his first publication ("The Penetration of Luna") slated for Jupiter SF #19. His story "The Torturess" was shortlisted for Albedo One's Aeon Award.
