I’m Sarah. I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas with my husband Jeff and our new baby, Colt.
I am a native of Huron, South Dakota and, being the second of four children in a military family, grew up in a handful of places across the midsection of the United States. I graduated from Cabot High School in Cabot, Arkansas in 2000, and have been lucky enough to stay in the beautiful state of Arkansas ever since. My family, however, has scattered—my parents are currently stationed at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, sister Laura is serving a two-year assignment with the Peace Corps in Botswana, Africa, and sister Becky is a student at the University of Arkansas here in Fayetteville. My brother Tom, also military, was KIA in Iraq in October 2007.
I’m a Senior Account Executive for a Shopper Marketing agency here in Northwest Arkansas – and I work on Procter & Gamble’s Walmart Pet Food account. Which means I get paid to make sure you buy Iams! At Walmart! It’s fun work and hey – how many people can say they actually use their undergrad degree in Marketing?? I started there after graduating from the University of Arkansas in December 2005.
In all honesty, I first began to blog in order to keep up with my globetrotting family. We could post stories and pictures, and keep in touch in a whole new way. If you were to read through my archives you would discover that the “topic” of my writing has changed several times since I started blogging in March 2005. I have evolved from ‘College STUDENT/Waitress/Bartender Hoping and Dreaming for a “Real” Job upon Graduation’ to ‘College GRADUATE/Waitress/Bartender Hoping and Dreaming for a “Real” Job now that I’ve Graduated’ to ‘College Grad and Young Professional Starting my New Career in the Real World’ to ‘Newlywed Learning to Accept (and Love) Things Like Beer in my Fridge and (Seemingly) Round the Clock SportsCenter’ to ‘First Time Mama to the Most Beautiful Little Bundle of Photogenic Cuteness‘. Through it all, there are traces of sarcastic humor, (over)dramatic ranting, and an unhealthy obsession with righting the world’s grammatical errors – though I most commonly describe the content here as fun and harmless nonsense.
I would love to hear from you regarding either this blog or any of your own fun and harmless nonsense. Feel free.
