Geoffrey, Your prose is compelling. I lowered what would have been a high (9+) rating because of the black with white letter. This makes it sooooo very hard to read, and not very inviting. If you've chosen black for mood, there are a myriad of colours. Remember the reader will stop for any easy reason. Don't let it be because of the white on black. I don't think you're that dark of a person anyway? I'm at www.sonomahorse.blogspot.com. I've been in a black mood of sorts because I had one of my horses' euthanized on Friday. I just started my blog, am a non-fiction business writer, and and thinking of trying to make it in the fiction world. Probably more than you wanted to know. best, Melanie
