Diagnosed with breast cancer a few months shy of my 38th birthday and just after going back to graduate school, I started USA Goju karate during radiation because it honestly felt good to hit something and scream (and was much cheaper than therapy) - and absolutely fell in love with it. I earned my black belt in May 09 and just celebrated my five year Cancer-versary.
