I was reading through your blog and found your short story Bardo. I really enjoyed it, I particularly liked Jack. He's funny and cruel at the same time, I enjoyed his dialogue and wished for more of it. I found him to be very interesting and the only person changing throughout the story. Ellen seems to be the same person throughout the story as she searches for her calm, for her center in life; while Jack goes from brotherly drunk to cruel drunk to remorseful brother. Jules, Dan and Chokyi have depth but only add to Ellen and not themselves. I almost want to interpret the ending as Ellen having the courage and confidence to leave the bardo, to detach herself from her previous self but that would be too obvious. Rather, I see it as her not having the courage to cut those ties as she can't detach from her brother and obviously still has feelings for Jules. Anyway, I got a lot out of your story as you can see but I'll end my comment here.
