I am disabled due to RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). I have no use of my right hand, only 30% of my left, and arms, my back is bad and too many other places to mention. It is a chronic, progressive neurological condition characterized by intense pain 24/7.
I lost my old life as it was. In my new life, I am homebound, unable to care for myself. But searching for a cure, is something I will never give up !
In my "quest" I have met many people with this disease. In support groups, chat rooms etc; all searching for the same thing. I have set up a web site, www.freewebs.com/thematrix777 as a way of reaching out.
With my computer, I have a connection with the outside world! I love to meet people, research,and do lots of fun things. I have a voice activated program, Dragon, to do the typing.
I have a husband of 41yrs and a daughter of 20 who just got married. Their love and support is the reason I get up in the morning. Without them, I would not survive, especially my husband who is also my caretaker.
I am upbeat, happy, motivated, hopeful, and I thank God every day just to be alive.
So that is my quest. Find a cure for RSD and meet wonderful people! On with the Quest!
UPDATE: On March 24, i had a Trigger Point injection from Dr.Kenneth Hampar.M.D. at the Pain Institute of Nevada. Within 5 minutes, I had NO PAIN in my right hand, which is the original site of my RSD. I am ecstatic!!!!!!
With physical therapy I am beginning to use it. After almost 5 years, the hand and brain need to be re-trained how to use everything all over again like a new born baby......
But, I don't care!!!! I will work as hard as it takes to get my hand functioning at 100% again! Yes, I still use a wheelchair. Yes, I still can't use my left arm. one thing at a time..lol
