I am a professional photographer based along shores of the Caribbean Sea in the picturesque town of Dangriga, Belize.
Born in Ohio and raised in Minnesota, I have a varied background including flying in the US Air Force, UDT/SEAL military training, diving on oil rigs off California and captaining a sailboat across the Atlantic Ocean and through the Mediterranean and North Seas. I am a trained marine biologist and have worked as a diver and underwater photographer for the Smithsonian Institution.
I first visited Belize in 1979, and moved permanently there in 1987. Since then I have explored and photographed most of Belize by land, sea and air. I have also photographed the neighboring countries of Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.
I founded, along with my wife Therese, Naturalight Productions, Belize's premiere Internet marketing company. I still head the special projects division of the company. The company created and manages numerous award winning websites such as www.belizenet.com, www.belize.net - a search engine dedicated to Belize, www.belizeanjourneys.com - a bi-weekly online magazine and the Belize Tourism Board's official website, www.travelbelize.org.
My clients include the World Wide Fund for Nature, UNESCO, Government of Belize, The Earth Foundation, EarthWatch, Smithsonian Institution, Belize Audubon Society as well as many other organizations.
My images have appeared in varied magazines including Sea Frontiers, BBC Wildlife, The Nature Conservancy, Caribbean Sports and Travel, Animals, OnBoard TACA flight magazine, as the principle photographer for APA Insight Guides to Belize and Cuba, and Belize's premiere travel magazine, Destination Belize.
My corporate clients include Belize Tourism Board, Shell Oil Company, Biltmore Hotels, Radisson Hotels, Chaa Creek Cottages, Chan Chich Lodge, Ramada Hotels, Belize Telecommunications Ltd. as well as numerous tourism operations throughout the region.
