Distressing with Chalk Paint

In planning to show you guys how I do my paint that is distressing with chalk. Lately I did a make-over on my dining room table and seats and that is the end outcome…

I purchased this “JOKKMOKK” dining area dining table and seats at Ikea about 6 years ago and always thought I needed to make a move with it BUT simply never had the time. Eventually I could spruse it up using a can of chalk paint and a metal grill scraper and I definitely adore the effect! Don´t get me wrong I love Ikea furniture but it´s become a “by-line” of mine to get less costly furniture and also make it seem, well, more pricey ?

In the picture below I set the dining table for 2 and all the tableware and ornaments are from Ikea. Did I mention I love Ikea?! & #128578;

To get the look I employed chalk paint in the color antique white. They key will be to paint thin levels which helps you to make use of the metal grill scraper later. The paint comes off much more easy. On the components where a double-layer was painted by me it required hellip & considerably more effort; it was tough work! Note to everybody else and self out there: one-layer will do!

Before I forget, I sanded the table-down softly subsequently washed it with warm soapy water, ensured it dried 100%, then carried on to paint it with the chalk paint.

After you completed with all the scraper, dust the surfaces off entirely and after that make use of a wax seal (one that is usually used after utilizing chalk paint). I utilized a clear wax seal.

Picture with chalk paint is now an enthusiasm of mine! I recently repainted my Ikea novel stand in the color rock and it seems absolutely amazing!! I lately discovered in regards to a technique in which you utilize vinegar to distress furniture. I´m intending to test it from my outdoor patio furniture which I´m intending to paint in a gentle pastel robin´s egg colour. I can´t wait to find out whether it works! I swear to compose a post about it ?

One more point, I desired to reveal this Renaissance Chalk Furniture Paint Deluxe Starter-Kit (that contains a Quart (950ml) of paint, 8oz (240ml) Obvious Wax, 4oz (120ml) Darkish Wax, 2″ (50mm)Paint-Brush, 1.5″ (38mm)Wax Brush and a-1″ (25mm) Wax Depth Brush) with you men if you´r e needing to get in to re-vamping outdated furniture with chalk paint.
