You will need a food processor or a good food chopper to make this watermelon sorbet recipe. It can be as simple as a Ninja chopper or a cheap one off of Amazon. I personally use a Hamilton Beach food processor that costs less than $30. I have made this recipe both with a Ninja chopper and with a food processor, and not surprisingly it works best with a food processor.Plus, you can make bigger portions with a food processor 🙂 Nevertheless, you do not necessarily need to go buy a new appliance in order to start making your own natural ice cream and sorbet recipes at home. If you have browsed our recipes section lately, you have probably noticed that I am on a low-glycemic and natural kick. That is because I am eating well as part of treating my PCOS. It is easy for me to resist starches and empty carbs when it comes to savory foods, but it has been a struggle with sweets and desserts. It has truly brought out the cook in me. Thankfully, it has also satiated my sweet tooth. You may be thinking that watermelon is high in glycemic index. That is deceptively true. While it is high in the glycemic index at 72, it is low in glycemic load at a mere 5. The glycemic index will tell you how quickly your body will process the the food and therefore its impact on your blood sugar. The glycemic load takes into account how many carbs are in a given food. So, even though your body processes watermelon quickly, it does not have that many carbs so it will not spike your blood sugar. This article gives a good overview.


I used this watermelon sorbet recipe countless times over the past summer trying new ingredients and ingredient ratios. Now, I did not fib when I said that this only recipe only requires three ingredients. That is true. However (I apologize that there is a caveat), if you want to make a delicious variation of watermelon sorbet, I suggest tossing in a few frozen strawberries. I think that it helps with the sweetness and tartness a bit without surrendering any flavor of the watermelon. If you want pure watermelon, then stick to the original recipe and enjoy the watermelon goodness.


3-Ingredient Watermelon Sorbet Recipe

  • 2 cups Watermelon (Frozen)
  • 1 Lemon (Juiced)
  • 2 tablespoons Club Soda


  • 1 handful Strawberries (Frozen)
  • 1 sprinkle Stevia


Step 1
Place the frozen watermelon and optional frozen strawberries into the food processor. Process until there are no large chunks and the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Step 2
Add the lemon juice, club soda and optional stevia. Process the ingredient until thoroughly mixed with a sorbet consistency. Add club soda as needed.

3 Ingredient Natural Watermelon Sorbet Recipe
