To celebrate the theatrical release of Assassin’s Creed in theaters December 21, AMD and Alienware have teamed up with 20th Century Fox and New Regency to launch a virtual reality (VR) experience that will take the viewer into the world of the Spanish inquisition through the lens of an Assassin. The “Assassin’s Creed Movie VR Experience” premiers at The Game Awards 2016 in the Assassin’s Creed Red Room.

The movie VR experience was developed and rendered using innovative AMD Radeon™ technology, designed to fuel the creation of real-time photorealistic VR content. It was shot on-site during the movie’s filming both in Malta and at Practical Magic’s studio in Burbank.

The Assassin’s Creed Movie VR Experience rolls out to cinema-goers at AMC Theatres® in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and New York City. These theaters will feature several Oculus Rift demo kiosks where viewers can immerse themselves in the powerful content before or after their movie. Each are powered by the new Alienware Aurora PC featuring the new Radeon™ RX 480 graphics cards.

The movie VR experience is also available for free through the Oculus Video app on both Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR as well as a 360 video on Facebook.
