It's about (food) time!
In Ireland it is the time of year again to start enjoying the most exquisite food. For one week food lovers around Dublin city can savor specially prepared meals by exclusive Chef's during the Dine in Dublin Festival.
All around the city the best restaurants are participating in this annual event. There is literally a taste available for everyone. From Irish, French, Italian, American to Asian and Russian cuisine. You can sample it all. Now in its 9th year already it has had huge success and amazing feedback putting Ireland on the map for gourmets internationally. Well known chefs prepare incredible meals outside their usual menus. If you have been starving yourself to loose those extra pounds from the Christmas holidays and have been waiting for an opportunity to get out and enjoy a marvelous meal then this is it!
Supported by groups such as Dublin Town & Dublin Fashion the festival has grown immensely over the last few years. It is running between the 27th of February and the 5th of March this year.
Usually you have to book your tables in advance. So if you haven't done so yet, do it now! Every restaurant is responsible for their own bookings during the festival week so find out about your favorite food place and see when to apply. Some venues make it very exclusive and release only a limited amount of tickets over time. In this case you will have to hurry.
The perfect restaurant example
If you want an example of one of the top places to go take a look at the Fire Restaurant. They have just released their special menu for the festival and it looks absolutely divine! The venue will only allow 12 people per evening and will only have the meal on only 4 nights during the festival. That means only 48 people get to actually enjoy it. On top of that they will only charge €50 per person for a meal that is valued at €150! An absolute no-brainer to book this as quickly as possible.
Lets take a look shall we?
For starters they are offering Ardsallagh Goats Cheese (YUM!)
What follows is French Onion Soup with Garlic croutons and a Gruyere crust.
And then you get and an amazing surf and turf which is an 35 day dry aged Boruma Beef Rib... getting hungry?
And to finish this nicely a fantastic passion fruit Bavarois will be waiting for you.
So what is a Bavarois? Fancy word for mousse I guess. This will include a white chocolate mousse with basil pastry cream.
This place is definitely one of the, or if not the best restaurant in Dublin no doubt.
If you are still reading and haven't picked up the phone yet then what is wrong with you? :) No but seriously check out the festival for a lot of incredible choices and enjoy Dublin city while you are at it. There are tons of great things to see there but I'll put that in another post soon. I promise! :)
