Often, a King is called a Lord!

That is true of our Lord Jesus. A true believer has surrendered his or her entire life to the Lord Jesus. Not just the leftovers! Jesus is supposed to be the Lord over every second and every situation of every day. If I … If we … are going to call ourselves a servant of Jesus the King, then we must be reminded this morning that Jesus is also the Lord … the Master and we, as His servants, do as He commands. Period!

That is how a servant/Master relationship works!

I … we … are to do what Jesus tells us to do when we are tired, when we are sick, when we do not feel like doing it and even when others are not doing it – we still serve Jesus as a servant obeys his Master, Lord and King.

What would happen if I … if we … all spoke in a Christ-like way because that is what our Master has commanded us to do – yes, even when we are tired? What would happen if we all acted in a Christ-like way because that is what our Master has commanded us to do – yes, even when we are sick? What would happen if we all gave generously because that is what our Master has commanded us to do – yes, even when we do not “feel” like it and yes, even when others are not doing it?

As I prayed about this second point, I believe that the Lordship of Jesus is proven in or lives by the way that we judge people or do not judge people.

Look at what Paul says in Romans 14:1, “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment…” I do not think that it is possible unless Jesus is the Lord of a life. Happiness or a blessing comes when you and I can accept other people who have not yet attained our level of perfection! I do not think that is possible unless Jesus is the Lord of a life. Something special happens -- in our witness -- when people do not have to meet our standards just to be loved. I do not think that is possible unless Jesus is the Lord of a life. How do you react when somebody messes up? Is it, “I told you so or is it I will stand beside you?”

Praise should always come before a put down! I do not think that is possible unless Jesus is the Lord of a life.
