Everyone wants to eat better, but sometimes we need a little inspiration and simple solutions to choose from to make it a reality more often. This is especially true for working moms like me who love preparing delicious meals for their families but just don’t have the time to spend hours in the kitchen preparing elaborate recipes. Recently, I have learned about the Balance Your Plate program which is designed to educate everyone about ways to put together nutritious meals that incorporate both frozen and fresh foods. This is such a big help when it comes to finding that balance between our busy lives and making sure we are eating healthy.
Research shows that Americans are only meeting MyPlate recommendations for vegetables, fruit, proteins, dairy and grains seven days out of 365. This is of great concern to me because I have two active sons and I am constantly worried about whether they are eating a balanced diet. My older son plays basketball competitively so it is really important that he eat properly so he could have the energy he requires to play sports. Stouffer’s has recently announced its new “Kitchen Cupboard” commitment. Their aim is to focus on shortening and simplifying recipes to only include ingredients that we all can find right in our homes such as find at home, like vine-ripened tomatoes, freshly made pasta, and real mozzarella.
Their first simpler recipe begins with Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat and Sauce, which is one of their classic dishes. It now boasts fewer ingredients but you can still expect the delicious flavors that you have come to expect from Stouffer’s for years. Over the next couple of years, expect to see Kitchen Cupboard renovations across most of their existing and new menu options. It’s the perfect combination of simple ingredients, great taste, and most value for your money.
As a busy mom, I love that Stouffer’s lasagna comes in family size so all I have to do is pop it right into the oven and pair it with my family’s favorite sides such as green beans. I never have to worry again that my family is not getting a balanced meal, now that is what you call having it all!
Let’s Discuss: How do you balance a busy schedule and make sure your family enjoys wholesome meals at the same time?
